Welcome to the first Wine Tour of 2019! My “Mistresses of Mayhem” we celebrating their Mom’s 60th Birthday in style!
Unsworth Vineyards https://www.unsworthvineyards.com
We started off in Coombs, BC and drove 1.5 hours to Cobble Hill to visit the beautiful Unsworth Vineyards. We delighted in the scenery, took photos at the pond, and tasted delicious the wines they have to offer. The Rose Charme De L’lil was the favourite among the group.
Merridale Cidery and Distillery https://www.merridale.ca/
From there, we went to lunch at Merridale Cidery and Distillery, also located in Cobble Hill
Thanks to Lauren and ordering in advance, our lunch was ready when we arrived. Everyone enjoyed a “flight” tasting of some of the ciders they make on site. There are so many choices it’s difficult to decide on which flight to taste. The ladies tried and enjoyed several of each, and took some home to enjoy later.
Enrico Winery https://www.enricowinery.com/
We continued our journey to Enrico Winery, where the Birthday girl got to Sabre a Champagne bottle. I treated the ladies to a pitcher of the best Sangria they’ve ever had! We purchased some of their amazing Pinot Noir and Petite Milo to go. The staff was accommodating and went out of their way to make this a very special Birthday. https://www.enricowinery.com/
Blue Grouse Estate Winery https://www.bluegrouse.ca
Our last stop was at the Blue Grouse Vineyards where we ultimately made many purchases. Even tough I had forgotten to make a reservation, Melanie behind the tasting bar was patient and very accommodating. The Quill Red and the Pinot Noir are award winning wines, and we took home many bottles of both! If you haven’t been here, the scenery is exquisite, even in March. The mountains loom high behind the grapevines, and it simply makes for the best backdrop for photos to remember your special occasion.
Thank you everyone who made this sunny day special for our Birthday girl. We look forward to many more wine tours this summer, great fun, great music, good food, terrific wines and ciders, and lots of lovely people.
